The hour is our estimate, not an announcement: every Path of Exile 2 launch so far went live at 8:00 AM New Zealand time, which on December 11 is 11:00 AM PST (19:00 UTC). The countdown switches to the announced hour as soon as the developer names it.

Path of Exile 2 1.0 launches on Friday, December 11, 2026, Pacific time — the day the game leaves early access and becomes free to play. The launch hour is not announced yet. Every Path of Exile 2 launch so far went live at 8:00 AM New Zealand time, which in December means 11:00 AM PST (19:00 UTC), so the countdown uses that hour as an estimate. In Australia, New Zealand and East Asia the launch falls on Saturday, December 12, local time.

Is Path of Exile 2 free at 1.0?
Yes. From the 1.0 launch on December 11, 2026, Path of Exile 2 is free to play, so buying early access is no longer needed — the developer announced it with the date, and the game's Steam page says the same.
Spending stays optional: cosmetic items and extra stash tabs. Purchases belong to your account and are shared between Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2. The early access supporter packs are leaving the store within a few weeks of the developer's October 22 post, to be replaced by five new packs whose contents and prices are not announced yet.
What time does PoE 2 1.0 go live?
Not announced yet. For recent launches the developer named the hour one to three weeks ahead: for 0.4 in a post on November 20, 2025, for 0.5 in its FAQ on May 11, 2026. The countdown above switches to the announced hour the day it appears.
Until then, the pattern: early access opened on December 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM PST, 0.4 on December 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM PST, 0.5 on May 29, 2026 at 1:00 PM PDT and the 0.5.5 event league on September 4, 2026 at 1:00 PM PDT. Every one of them was 8:00 AM in New Zealand, where Grinding Gear Games is based. For a December launch, 8:00 AM New Zealand time is 11:00 AM PST — 19:00 UTC on December 11.
Servers normally go down for maintenance before a launch: for 0.4 and 0.5 the realms went offline at 17:00 UTC, two to three hours before the start.
What happens before launch day
November 6 (PST): the ExileCon 2026 keynote in Auckland with the full 1.0 reveal. The pre-show starts at 12:30 PM PST and the keynote at 1:00 PM PST (21:00 UTC), free on Twitch and YouTube. The same show reveals Covens of Umbra, the next expansion for Path of Exile 1.
Around December 3: the 1.0 patch notes, if the developer keeps the 8-day gap it had before 0.4 and 0.5. That date is our estimate; the patch notes page gets a summary the day the notes appear.
Until December 11 (PST): sign-up for the free full-release rewards at pathofexile2.com/register. Everyone who registers gets at least one cosmetic code by email after launch, up to five if community milestones are reached, and owning early access does not register you automatically.
Get one notification at launch
Tap Notify me at launch in the countdown and your browser will show one notification when 1.0 goes live and one when its patch notes are out. Nothing else is sent, and you can switch it off at any time in your browser's site settings.
On iPhone and iPad, add this site to your Home Screen first: Apple allows web notifications only from there. On Android and desktop you can install the clock as an app too — it opens straight to the countdown. What a subscription keeps is listed on the about page.
